The 2015 WSOP is just two months away, and to celebrate the upcoming start of the world’s most prestigious live poker series, WSOP NJ will be hosting a throng of satellites this weekend. Players of the online poker room in New Jersey will have a chance to win a seat in the 2015 WSOP $10k Main Event, the first ever $1k WSOP Online Event, or both at once!
Satellite to 2015 WSOP Main Event + Online Event
Being promoted as the 2015 World Series of Poker Kickoff Weekend, the satellites will begin tomorrow—Saturday, March 21st—and continue through Sunday, March 22nd. The most valuable satellite of all is the very first on the schedule, slated for 2:15 pm ET on Saturday. For an entry fee of $200, players will compete in a re-entry NLHE event for an all-inclusive $13,000 2015 WSOP prize package. (Note: minimum 8 registered players required to award prize package.)
The winner of this tournament will receive the $10,000 buy-in for the 2015 WSOP Main Event to be held at the Rio Las Vegas, NV on July 5th at Noon. That’s not all, though. They will also receive an entry to the $1,000 WSOP Online Event, to be played on WSOP.com in Nevada starting July 2nd, and wrap up live at the Rio on July 4th. The remaining $2,000 of the prize package will be delivered into the winner’s online poker account, to be used at their discretion for travel, accommodation and other expenses.
Satellite to 2015 WSOP Main Event
On Sunday at 5:00pm, another $200 satellite takes place, this time with a $12,000 prize package to the 2015 WSOP Main Event only. The prize package includes the $10,000 buy-in and $2,000 in expense money and spending cash, paid into the player’s WSOP NJ online poker account.
Satellite to 2015 WSOP Online Event
At 2:30pm ET on Sunday, WSOP NJ will host a qualifier to the historic 2015 WSOP Online Bracelet Event—the very first of its kind. The buy-in is $100, and the top 5 finishers are guaranteed a $1,000 seat in the WSOP Online Event.
The schedule for the WSOP’s first bracelet-worthy online tournament will be as follows. The event begins online at WSOP.com in Nevada at Noon on July 2nd. The field will play down to the final 6, then pause for a “travel day” on July 3rd so that all participants can arrive at the Rio in time for the live final table on July 4th.
Satellites to any $1,000 WSOP Event
These $10 R&A NLHE satellites will run all weekend, awarding at least 1 seat in any $1,000 WSOP side event of the winners’ choice. The first two take place on Saturday, starting with a $10 NLHE R&A at 3:30pm, then a $10 NLHE R&A Turbo at 6:30pm. Then on Sunday, another $10 NLHE R&A begins at 3:30pm, followed by the final 2015 WSOP satellite of the weekend, a $10 NLHE R&R Turbo at 6:00pm. Each $1k WSOP Event satellite guarantees at least one seat.
Winners of these satellites can use their $1,000 tournament lammers to enter any side event they wish, and can even stack their winnings should they happen to win in more than one $1k satellite. For example, let’s say that (against all odds) the same player were to win all four $1k event satellites at WSOP NJ this weekend. That player could stack the $4k worth of tournament lammers to enter one or more higher-priced side events, or even add $6k in cash to enter the 2015 WSOP Main Event.
